Venue: Old Government Cottage, 16 Stanley Street, Bathurst
Come along and view the PowerPoint presentation of early Bathurst images that have been amalgamated into this photo exhibit which gives a fascinating insight into the early years of Bathurst after photography developed in the 1870s and later. A timeline photo presentation is laid out to allow visitors to more logically see the development of Bathurst and the surrounding area and how the Europeans crossed the Blue Mountains, how the convict road was built by Cox, along with aspects of the convict settlement. Whilst the exact date of the building still defies researchers it could be as early as 1825 or 1827 or the 1850s. All scenarios are laid out to see. The mid-Victorian garden is currently recovering from the winter weather at present.
